Formal Education:
Thomas Nelson College, Old Dominion University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Corning Museum for Glass, and various seminars and workshops throughout the country from leading artists in the field of glass, and other mediums.

Accomplished Media:
Paper and canvas using oils, chalks, charcoal, watercolor, acrylics.
Using glass as a canvas.

Mastered Glass Techniques:
Flat panel in copper-foil and leaded. Sandblasting for surface and deep carving. Hand beveling. Lampworking. Lampshade techniques to include; flat panel, fused, Tiffany reproduction, reverse painting. Kiln work includes fusing, sagging, and slumping. Stain and enamel techniques, using traditional methods. Copper-foil overlay with decorative solder techniques. Mosaics and Restoration.

Also in Platte, The Creamery Gallery on Main Street represents Mary’s wide variety of original artwork, including her dynamic kiln formed vessels; stained, fused and etched glass panels, and paintings on canvas.

In Mary’s studio, visitors will find plenty of exciting examples of her works in progress. You never know what you’ll find – she may be creating custom bevels, putting together a fabulous lampshade, etching glass, designing a mosaic piece - but be assured that you’ll be mesmerized by the creativity in this magical space.
